LOGAN LYNN // SOFTCORE

Love Is Stronger Than Fear. Every Time. And I Am Surrounded By Love.

York Nebraska - Logan Lynns Childhood Home

30 years ago I was hurt by a family friend in the house pictured here, just beyond that upstairs window, over the course of two years. When I left York, Nebraska in 1994 I swore that I would never return…and I have kept that promise to myself and others in the years since.

My sweet mom and dad were passing through that part of the country today and agreed to take some pictures of places where I felt that I had lost myself and send them to me.

So here is this shitty house with its stupid upstairs window, in all its small nothingness. It’s not big and scary like I have grown it in my mind all these years; It’s just a house like any other house in a town like any other town. This place has no power anymore, and neither does the man who hurt me there.

I’m going back to York later this year with my family so that we can bury our shared trouble in the dirt where it first found us and make new memories there together. Love is stronger than fear. Every time. And I am surrounded by love.

If you are experiencing abuse, I encourage you to tell someone you trust. You can also contact RAINN at www.RAINN.org and they can help.

There are lots of people out here in the world who are rooting for your survival. You are not alone. Ever. ❤️

ADIEU.

There have been several times in my life where I have wanted to not be here anymore. There have also been times when my former addiction or mental health struggles have made their way into the public sphere, which anyone who knows how to use the internet either already knows about or can find for themselves, so I won’t bore you with those details.

I have been open about my own mental and behavioral health for as long as I can remember, both in my music and in the media…mainly because there would have been no possible way for me to hide it; and making songs has always been my therapy – often the only way I am able to get the poison out.

I tried to leave this world the first time when I was 14 years old by throwing open the door of my father’s car while he was driving on the freeway and then trying to jump out of the moving vehicle at full speed. My dad held on to me and my clothing with one hand and everything he had, and somehow managed to both keep me in the car and get us to safety.

I wanted it to be over.
I wanted to leave the world.
And I still sometimes do.

The Church of Christ “therapist” I was sent to because I was depressed and locked in my room had outed me to my parents just moments before. Read the rest of this entry »

Author, Radio Host and Emmy Award Winning Journalist Sheila Hamilton Reviews Logan Lynn’s Forthcoming Record “ADIEU.”

Logan Lynn ADIEU - Sheila Hamilton Review (2016)

Check out what Sheila Hamilton had to say about my new record ADIEU. this week!

“Logan Lynn returns with ADIEU., his eighth studio album and a seismic message of resilience and recovery. Lynn’s danceable, party perfect sound succeeds in a major musical hat trick; doubling as a hopeful anthem for anyone who has suffered the one-two sucker punch of trauma compounded by self-medicating. These songs are dirty, raw and so beautifully rendered I could not stop listening.

ADIEU. fills the vacant space in music that goes beyond drugs, sex and rock and roll to what happens next, when the wounded and victimized awaken to the potential of their own lives. The mix of rock, pop and 90’s rhythms is so infectious, one might be tempted to forego the liner notes and lyrics. Don’t make that mistake.

As a mental health advocate and suicide loss survivor, I cheered this album and its anthem: Stick around and bear witness to the beating of your own heart.”
