Thanks to the Bay Area Reporter for including me and my new record alongside John Grant, Troye Sivan and others in this “More Queers For Your Ears” feature in the current issue.
I’m in such good company! Click the screenshot below to read the whole thing.
Thank you to Providence Health, Robin Henderson and Tyler Norris for inviting me to come tell my story and talk about how the Keep Oregon Well movement came to be at the launch of their new, national Institute for Mental Health and Wellness. It is an honor to be creating this new world with all of you!
And thanks to my advocacy partner / chosen sister Sheila Hamilton for always sitting in the front row when I do this public trauma response routine. You can watch her video of me addressing the crowd here:

Thanks again to my old friend and Designer Emily Payne (Project Runway / Leathertongue / Project Runway: All Stars) for her support of our mental health advocacy efforts!
I had the absolute pleasure of interviewing her at the Clift Hotel about self-care and resilience in the face of reality TV competition show stress for Keep Oregon Well while I was in San Francisco last week.
Hi babies! My producer and I have decided to release one last single from the little album that could before we dive headfirst in this new direction for the next round. One more banger? I think so.
The “Radio Silent” music video releases June 10th, 2014. Filmmaker Runn Shayo directed the video, and he has created a masterpiece of pure summertime filth.
A photographer named Leonard Martin Hughet reached out to me a few weeks back and asked if he could take my picture while he was visiting Portland from San Francisco. I figured it was the perfect time to immortalize my enormous holiday beard, so here she is, courtesy of Mr. Hughet’s talents!
A lovely and talented filmmaker and performance artist named Run Shayo has been flying all over the United States with us every step of the way this summer for our tour, capturing the good moments (and the ugly ones) as we go. He is making a documentary about our experience together on this queer music tour and it is going to be J.U.I.C.Y. when it’s all said and done. I trust this man’s vision wholeheartedly, and if you don’t already know his work, you soon will.
I’m back in Portland for a few days midway through our summer tour and figured I would tell you things about the first leg of shows!
The tour kicked-off in San Francisco at Beatbox on Friday night and was great. I heard after the show that one of my all-time musical heroes Bob Mould had asked the tour organizer the day before what time I was performing and then he came to the show! So awesome.
Of course, this also means that Bob got to see me knock both of my bottles of water off of a stool and onto the stage during a song, where they began pouring out into a rat’s nest of wires surrounding me. In an act of quick-thinking, fancy footwork, I repurposed my green LaCoste face towels (which Gino and I use to keep the sweat from blinding us on stage) and used one foot to mop it up while I sang the opening of our next song. It was pretty special. Here’s to not getting publicly electrocuted on stage in SF!

Thank you to Gino Mari and Michael Brillig for designing my live show and to Gino especially for being on the road with me and getting me from point A to point B every step of the way!
We’ll be in Portland on Thursday, Seattle on Sunday, and the grand finale in New York City on July 19th! See you again soon, California.
