All of you who follow me know that I am passionate about mental health — particularly around destigmatizing issues of trauma and addiction.

For the past 4.5 years I have been doing LGBTQ advocacy and communications work with Q Center in Portland, and I am pleased to announce that I have accepted a position as Communications Director for Trillium Family Services, Oregon’s largest provider of mental & behavioral healthcare for children and families.  Click HERE for the full scoop.

In advance of a highly publicized festival showcase in Austin, Texas alongside Austra, Trust, Big Freedia and Mykki Blanco at Stargayzer Festival on Sunday, September 14^th, Portland indie pop musician (and Dandy Warhols protégé) Logan Lynn is releasing the first two songs from his upcoming new record next week on 9.9.2014.  The full album is slated for release in 2015.

A departure from the electronic sound Lynn has built his career around, “We Will Overcome” finds Logan Lynn and his band in a more organic space, pulling on influences that range from Ziggy Stardust-era Bowie to Fun and Elliott Smith.

Lynn debuted this new sound last year when he released a critically-acclaimed cover of Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop”, which New York Magazine called “Dreamy” and “Guitar-heavy” and The Huffington Post described as “warm” and “bolder than the original”.  Since the release of “We Can’t Stop” Read the rest of this entry »
