Portland-based musician Logan Lynn has announced a new 4 track live EP, Unpeeled, to be released January 31st on Banana Stand Records. This is a brand new format for the multifaceted Logan Lynn, who has never before released a live record/performance like this. Unpeeled also marks his debut with Portland’s Banana Stand Media, a staple of the Portland / Pacific Northwest that works to preserve the live sounds of the indie music scene. THIS IS WILD.
The good folks at Spotify put together a best-of retrospective of my career titled “This is Logan Lynn” as part of their “This Is” playlist series and I’m not sure whether to promote it or apologize. 😊🎧
Thank you so much, Spotify! I’m in really good company and it’s a total honor.
It’s live HERE now if ya wanna give it a spin, or click on the screenshot below. Hi Ariana Grande! Read the rest of this entry »

I have been writing songs for a new record in Portland all this year and have been releasing short clips of all of them on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Google+ as I go.
Here they are at the exact moments in which they were each born, imperfections and all. 2016: MY MOVIE STAR, MY SORROW.
More to come…

Sex, Dogs and Mental Health? Logan Lynn Tackles Depression and Suicidal Ideation on New Record
by Chris Young
After years of translating emotional hardship into musical coherence, Lynn’s grief has “opened the door to creating something beautiful” as he returns with his eighth studio record, ‘Adieu,’ in September.
To put it simply, Logan Lynn’s been through some shit lately. After losing his beloved Pomeranian, Dutch, followed by the demise of his romantic relationship, Lynn documented, sonically, all the emotion that was pouring forth from his being.
Recording some 500 voice notes on his phone “over the course of this particular four-month mental health crisis,” Lynn waded “through the hours of often incoherent, tearful screaming sessions and a cappella melodies” and found the bones to his new record, Adieu.
“Unlike all of my other albums, every single one of these songs was born in my head without any instruments,” Lynn explains. “They all came out almost like spirituals.” Alongside longtime collaborator and producer Gino Mari, the pair took the pieces and made them into songs. “It has been difficult and beautiful and I feel so proud of what we have made out of something so terrible.” Read the rest of this entry »

The past month has felt like one “Holy Shit!” moment after another, the latest being that my “We Can’t Stop” cover video just passed the 100,000 views mark this evening. Thank you to everyone who has been watching the video and downloading the song since it was released. All of this is happening for me because of YOU.
Big thanks also go out to my Producer/Co-Writer Gino Mari from The Country Club studios for being the creative genius in my passenger seat throughout this process. I love you, man!

My new video “Everything You Touch Turns To Gold” was released today. This one was directed by Rowan Wren, who also sang the female vocal part for the song, and is featured alongside me in the video. Metal sculpture artist Christopher Truax built my incredible angel wings. Thank you, Christopher! Check out more of Truax’s insane sculpture work HERE.

I’ve been releasing acoustic versions of new songs every few weeks since December and let another one out this evening. It’s called “The Tree You Named After Me” and is yet another collaboration with teenage pop phenom Noah Daniel Wood on guitar & David Appaloosa (from Portland indiepop boyband The Hugs) recording and quick mixing the whole thing for us.

I am headed to the Oregon coast tomorrow to ring in the new year with my boyfriend and some of our friends but figured I would leak another in a series of acoustic version of songs from this new record I’ve been working on before I go. That’s Noah Daniel Wood on Ukulele.

Last year on this day the most wonderful man came into my life. Over the past 12 months of being together a new record has formed. In honor of today’s manniversary I have decided to leak a couple of the acoustic demo versions of new songs from said new record.
Teenage pop prodigy Noah Daniel Wood plays guitar on both “Everything You Touch Turns To Gold” and “Heaven Or Hell” and they were recorded in Portland by David Appaloosa from The Hugs.

During the past few months of rehearsing at The Dandy Warhols’ “Odditorium” the folks at my label shot some behind-the-scenes footage of me messing around on instruments with no wires.
Here I am doing my traditional singer-songwriter impersonation with an older song of mine, titled “Monday Morning” on The Dandys’ grand piano.
