REMIXER SPOTLIGHT: SOUND////AUDIO + LOGAN LYNN

Sound///Audio (2009) Logan Lynn

“Sound//Audio”

Sound//Audio (aka Mark Right) did a remix of “Feed Me To The Wolves” which is outer-worldly…partially because he took the vocal pad layer (me singing falsetto in what has come to be known around the studio and amongst my collaborators as my “Mickey” voice, which I did almost all the way through my record buried WAY down in the mix) and he turned it into the MAIN vocal. It’s super cool. I am always amazed when someone can turn what in my mind would have been my worst nightmare and make my jaw drop. That happened with this one.

It is hard to turn a song like “Wolves” into anything other than a new variation of what it has already been, but the “Sound////Audio” version is incredible in this new, totally freaky awesome way. I love this one. Listen HERE.

REMIXER SPOTLIGHT: VERY INTERNATIONAL LOVE + LOGAN LYNN

Very International Love (2009)

“Very International Love”

This portland disco-house electropop outfit is described by their label as bringing “moonbeam heart drops to any eye in the sky.” The duo puts on a killer show, just finished making a killer record, and now they have done a killer remix of “Bottom Your Way To The Top” for Volume 2 of my Remix EP Collection “Blood In The Water”! That’s killer times three, boys and girls.

I have shared the stage with these kids and they are super fun to see live. Check them out for sure. I love happy, poppy, cute folks in tight pants…always. “Blood In The Water” Volume 2 comes out later this month, so you’ll get to hear this puppy soon!

Hey everybody!

It’s October and I don’t know about you, but I’m turning 30 this month. I’m excited about this birthday over all other birthdays that I can remember. I am thinking this is maybe because I spent more than a few years thinking I would never reach this age due to the chemical tailspin I was in for 16 years. Most people who knew me in real life during this time had a similar feeling about my longevity, I’m sure. I am SO excited that I was wrong about this. I’m grateful that I have made it out of that waking nightmare alive and am pleased as punch to be here with all of you now, healthy and humbled with both feet planted firmly on the GROUND.

I figured I’d give away a song that fits in with the theme this week…

“The Dotted Line” is Track 13 on my new record (the final track) and was written while I was in a rehab center during the first part of 2008 finally getting my shit together. I put it last on the record because it felt to me like a little burst of hope at the tail end of documenting a rather difficult journey. It’s about picking up the broken pieces and putting them back together and, ultimately, letting go.

I hope you all find yourselves in a place of truth in your own experiences, whatever your truths may be…however wonderful or painful, forgettable or memorable. This is one piece of mine. Thanks for letting me share it with you.

🙂
