LOGAN LYNN MUSIC + MANAGEMENT

25 Years.

My first album was released on cassette tape on this day in 1998. It was available at several Portland and Seattle record shops but mainly it was other PNW bands who were tuned in at that time. Everybody else was pretty confused about what they were hearing and seeing, if I’m being honest.

Over the course of the next 25 years, I released 10 records, 41 music videos, 8 EPs, and 7 stand-alone singles. Some were self-released, some were put out by indie labels, and a couple were projects on major labels. I’ve had my songs featured in major fashion campaigns, commercials, films, and TV shows. My life and art have been covered extensively by all kinds of media. I’ve taken some really big swings and have had some really big misses — but I’ve also had decades of incredible home runs. Lots to be proud of, and at the end of the day, just still being here with all of you, getting to create music and movies that help me make sense of my feelings and experiences in the world for a quarter of a century, is perhaps my greatest achievement.

Full catalog is up on Bandcamp — even the out of print and deeply problematic stuff I wish didn’t exist. The reality is, it does exist, and I own every moment of it. Most of this stuff is available everywhere music is found.

Thank you for being here in the mess with me. Album 11 is coming after the new year on the world’s greatest record label.

Rock and Roll City is out today on Kill Rock Stars!

This song was written and recorded originally as part of the Distracted sessions at Burn Money Studios in Portland with me and Yellow Trash Can but in the end we decided it didn’t fit with the rest of the tracks on the EP, so we cut it. Everybody on the team and at the label still liked this one a lot so we decided to release it on its own. Anyway, here she blows.

Lyrically, Rock and Roll City is about wanting something superficial as a way of avoiding intimacy in relationships. For all the beauty and sex and glitz that comes with making music or chasing fame, it feels empty if you don’t have real shit around to balance it out.

The release of this single also marks the official end of my Gucci era. Thank you again to Alessandro Michele for dressing me for the last 8 years and for including me during his tenure at #Gucci. We had an incredible run and I will always be grateful for the opportunities his vision — and the Gucci brand — brought my way over the past decade of working together.

I’ve started collaborating with a new designer and fashion house for my looks on tour this fall, as well as for the next album and music videos coming next year. Stay tuned for more on that very soon, but in the meantime…

LET’S DANCE.
