Happy 1st birthday to SOFTCORE! We released the single and video on June 5th 2024, followed by the full album and accompanying short film a couple days later.
Thank you to everyone who wrote about it when it came out, and to all of you who bought the vinyl or CD, or have added it to a playlist somewhere along the way. I’m just some gay guy who has been making songs for the past 3 decades and I love that some of you care.

The song is about betrayal and who we become when we give ourselves up for someone else. In the video I got to burn down large swaths of the Idaho forest, which was symbolic of the fire that that been set in my life and home at the time — but also just because I absolutely hated living there, resented the bullshit that had brought me there in the first place, and wanted to watch it all burn.
