Hell yeah! Portland indie electrofolk act “Cars and Trains” and I will be debuting our merger for my live show (with him on music) at this year’s MFNW…which is this week!!! My showcase is at 9pm on FRIDAY night at East End (203 SE Grand Ave.) and I’m sharing the stage with The Punk Group, Royal Bangs and Tigercity! It’s gonna be a super goodie, so don’t miss it! Doors open at 8pm…get there early because East End tends to fill up on fun nights like this.
SEE YOU FRIDAY, PORTLAND!

Hey, everybody! I posted a new song from the new record, “From Pillar To Post”, in the music player today! Check it out! The female voice you hear is Portland electro icon Jen Folker from “Dahlia”. It was an honor to get her on the song…she is someone that I used to pay to go see EVERY WEEK at the Ohm back in the day…like, for YEARS. She has continued to hold my ears and my heart captive in the years since and I asked her first when it was time to look for a special someone to sing along with. I’m really lucky that I got all of these talented folks on board with this record…I am constantly pinching myself when looking at the liner notes and credits.
🙂
True to form, we have REMIXES of this track as well, which appear on the “Blood In The Water” Remix EP Collection. You can download “Bottom Your Way To The Top (The Gentry Remix)” FOR FREE below:

The godfather of my genre and one of my all-time musical HEROES, Belgium Electropop Genius Arne Van Pategem-aka “Styrofoam”- has served as inspiration for “Death Cab For Cutie” frontman Ben Gibbard’s side project “The Postal Service” (see The Postal Service’s Top Friends on Myspace) and he certainly has done the same for me since I first heard his record “I’m What’s There To Show Something’s Missing” in 2003.
The fact that this guy likes my music means the world to me, and getting him actually working with one of my songs for the remix project has meant even more. You are gonna go crazy when you hear what he did to “Bleed Him Out”. It’s amazing…and coming at you on Volume 3 in November!
