Been thinking a lot about life, death, and the privilege of still getting to be here. I turn 45 tomorrow and it’s unfathomable.

I’ve got plenty of regrets about these 16,425 days spent on Earth, but none more pronounced than wishing that I could have been softer on myself around life’s jagged edges, and kinder to others, at times, in the midst of it all. I have spent the past 2 decades in recovery working to figure this out and am pretty good at it now, but used to be terrible! Getting older is cool in this way. Lots to be proud of.

If it all ends this week, I hope everyone I love knows how much.❤️

All of the things I used to care about are meaningless and the mountain of stuff I never paid any attention to in the background suddenly seems precious.

Happy to be waking up like this every day, smiles on our faces, surrounded by love.
