LOGAN LYNN // SOFTCORE

READ THE "OREGON MUSIC NEWS" INTERVIEW WITH LOGAN LYNN HERE! STORY RUNS ON THEIR HOMEPAGE THIS SUNDAY!

Logan Lynn (2009)

I was interviewed by “Oregon Music News” last week and the story went live today. To check it out, CLICK HERE or you can read the full transcript below. The story will also be running on the homepage of the “Oregon Music News” website this Sunday, so…YAY. Thanks, OMN! I love it when magazines print my words as I say them instead of picking and choosing little snippets and making me sound stupid.

Here’s the transcript, folks:

From “Oregon Music News” (11/19/2009)

“Logan Lynn makes emotronic, electropop. A gay man from America’s heartland, raised in a family of cult-like, born-again Christians, he’s found a way out of some dark, lost days. Influenced by folk music growing up and DJs in Chicago, Logan’s demo was titled This Is Folk Techno. Sentimental lyrics paired with capricious electro-beats, Logan’s sound ranges from dejected to dancey, creating moods that resemble The Postal Service. Relishing in Portland’s creativity, Logan is signed to The Dandy Warhols’ label Beat The World and is becoming a people person. He celebrates his new album From Pillar To Post with a listening party on Sunday, November 22nd at Jinx Bar with The Dandy’s Zia McCabe spinning records as DJ Rescue, but before the drinks, Logan chats about being emo, hiding under the sheets, and grandma’s adages.”

OMN: Are you emo? What’s wrong with that word? Or is it just right?

LL: Well, that depends. Read the rest of this entry »

LOGAN LYNN'S "THE LAST HIGH" MUSIC VIDEO IS A WRAP! THANKS TO BYSTANDER PRODUCTIONS AND THE "100,000" EXTRAS WHO CAME OUT FOR THE 20 HOUR SHOOT THIS WEEKEND!!!

Bystander Productions presents Logan Lynn: "The Last High" Directed by Rebecca Micciche (2009)

As you probably know, I am about to release my cover of The Dandy Warhols’ song “The Last High”. We shot a video for the new single this weekend with the folks at “Bystander Productions” (who were also responsible for my “Feed Me To The Wolves” video in 2007) and it was quite the production. Director Rebecca Micciche had a very clear vision of what she wanted and executed it over the 20 hour shoot on Saturday. It was a LONG day for everybody involved, but the film turned out INCREDIBLE in the end.

Thanks so much to everybody on the cast and crew…obviously Rebecca Micciche, Jesse Cooke, Brad Reeb, Brian Mohr, Cassie Daugherty, Mike, Jess, Shola, Uwe, Jeremy, Lotti, Yosh, Hayden, Monica, Maija, Kassandra, Lyndsay, Nikki, Dani, Andrew, Nick, Lacie, Quan, Ross, Erika, and Kayla…there were bazillions of extras this time and I spent the entire day in bed with each of them, one after the other. What can I say? I get around. ha ha ha Each and every one of you was great and we got what we had planned and more for the scenes. I’m REALLY looking forward to seeing the finished product and then sharing it with all of you! It’s gonna be SO cool when it’s done in post-production.

“The Last High” audio will be coming at your ears in the next few weeks, followed by the video in December at some point, so stay tuned! I’ll announce specifics and post more stills as we get closer to release time. Thanks again to those of you who showed up, whether it was to work the set or roll around in bed with me. You were ALL incredible.
