LOGAN LYNN // SOFTCORE

THE PRE-RELEASE HAS BEGUN! GET YOUR ADVANCE COPY OF "FROM PILLAR TO POST" HERE NOW!!!

Logan Lynn: "From Pillar To Post" Album Cover (2009)

It’s Friday, September 4th 2009—and, as promised: The wait IS, in fact, OVER. My new record, “From Pillar To Post”, doesn’t hit stores, iTunes and everywhere else until Tuesday, November 24th…but we decided that “waiting is stupid so why do it any longer?”

You guys can get an advance digital copy of the record NOW when you pre-order the CD, Vinyl or any of the packages we have going on for the pre-release festivities…or, keep it simple and just stick to the digital. Either way, all of you who pick it up during this time will also receive ALL FOUR VOLUMES of the “Blood In The Water” Remix EP Collection—33 songs all together!

I want to thank Carlos Cortes who co-wrote and Produced the record with me, Jeremy Sherrer who Mixed it, K. Evan Hodge IV (K4) who Mastered it, all the musicians who played and performed on it, all the remixers who remixed it, Ryan Wines for making the release a reality and all of you who have believed in this project since day one (my songs AND in me) PARTICULARLY The Dandy Warhols, who have been so patient with me during the last couple of years while I made it…never pressuring me to hurry up and finish, always offering advice and support, letting me roam free in their kingdom so the record could take shape…”Thank you” doesn’t really cut it for anyone on that list, but it’s a start.

Hope you dig the new diggz, kiddz. I am really excited to finally get to share all of this with all of you.

🙂

FINALLY!!!!

CHECK OUT LOGAN LYNN IN THE 2009 MUSICFEST NORTHWEST FESTIVAL GUIDE & SONICBIDS AD!

Logan Lynn (2009)

As you may know, I have a showcase at the HUGE Portland annual bandfest MFNW again this year! I will be playing Friday, September 18th at 9pm at East End (203 SE Grand Ave.) with Royal Bangs, The Punk Group, & Tigercity! Come out and play!

I popped up in the guide in a couple of places this year…Here is what my blurb (on page 21 of the MFNW festival guide) reads:

“LOGAN LYNN – (Dancy Pantsy)
Portland beat boy Logan Lynn has range. His songs span from slutty to romantic, from cluttered to clean as a whistle. Since signing with Beat The World Records (The Dandy Warhols label), Lynn has been cranking out peppy, electronic dance jams like a turbocharged machine. Pairing with synth-savvy local producer Carlos Cortes (of DJ collective Assemble the Empire) allowed Lynn to pump out his most polished EP yet, Feed Me To The Wolves.”

THEN…on page 36, I am the subject of the SONICBIDS half-page ad! Check it out!

See you on the 18th, folks!

"THE POP! STEREO" POSTED THEIR REVIEW OF MY NEW RECORD TODAY ON THEIR SITE!

Logan Lynn (2009)

You can read the full review of “From Pillar To Post” (and nab a couple of the tracks) on “The Pop! Stereo” HERE.

Here’s a bit from the piece from “The Pop! Stereo” Music Blog:

“Oregonian, Logan Lynn is a troubadour who utilizes beats, synths and the preaching of the good word to convince the lovelorn and depressed that there’s more to life then being gutted all the time. Having released two previous albums that dwelled heavily on themes of religion, sexuality, and identity, the idea of singing to those troubled by all three is nothing new to Logan. On his third album, From Pillar to Post Logan Lynn has continued to develop his ability to lift troubled souls up via song and has also dived head on into exploring new sonic territory. As his bio states, he’s put the disco back in discomfort.

With an approach that’s pretty darn near close to the Postal Service, Logan Lynn weaves his tales around a rather shy and introspective voice that sounds as if they were written by the kid no one paid attention to. His outsider looking in perspective serves his ethereal like synth pop well as it sounds as if he’s whispering the lyrics to each song into your ear. As a result, From Pillar to Post is an intimate and personal record that anyone who has ever had any sort identity or relationship crisis can relate to.

From Pillar to Post is a lush, faithful and cozy record that will tug at your heart and give you a bear hug. It’s an emotional affair that might just bring you to tears. It’s Logan’s ability to write songs that are that heavy that makes him such a fantastic artist. The fact that he can successfully do it by laying it on the line in and packaging those hopes and tales of love and spirituality in the form of a pop song is a testament to the guy’s talent. Synth pop hasn’t had this much honesty and heart in a long time and that’s why I like From Pillar to Post as much as I do.”
