LOGAN LYNN // NEW MONEY \\ OUT NOW!

So…about Hollywood…

This time of year always makes me think of Malibu Beach and whenever I see these photos from the years I spent in and out of Hollywood, it’s tempting to believe them — but the reality is, those were some of the saddest, loneliest times of my entire life. I look at these beautiful pictures of me now and cringe.

Beachfront mansions and fancy clothes mean nothing without kindness around — and money and fame are useless without love.

The end.

My primary personality trait is being a homosexual who takes a lot of recreational baths.

Happy Pride to boring gays only. 🏳️‍🌈

Long Live Gay and Crazy.

Always funny to me when some puffed up clout chasing homophobe starts being gross or hateful in my direction to try and shame, scare or bully me publicly.

Like, uhhhh…I was abused as a child in the church, escaped that cult on my own as a 12 year old, left my family as a 14 year old, came out of the closet, survived being gay in Nebraska, survived being gay in Michigan, survived being gay in Kansas, survived being gay in Tennessee, survived being a gay homeless drug addict in the streets of San Francisco and Portland for 16 years after that, survived mental health crises, eventually got well on my own, survived being gay in Hollywood, survived the media, and have managed to build a truly happy life in the 12 years since that I am actually excited about living, as well as a career that I am super proud of.

These little videos and internet posts calling me gay and crazy never hurt me. GAY AND CRAZY IS LITERALLY MY BRAND. 🌈🖤

Leaving Neverland, Wherever You Are

Lots of TV talking heads screaming about how shocked they are that the adults in HBO’s “Leaving Neverland” documentary all seem to have just gone along with Michael Jackson’s predation; but sexual predators are experts at grooming entire families, and it happens slowly, over time.

This was certainly the case with what happened during my own youth. These people can sense when space exists between a child and their parents, perhaps created from previous abuse, neglect, some other type of trauma, or a need that isn’t being met at home, and they shapeshift to fill that empty space, meeting the need — not just for the victim in their sights, but for all of the grown-ups around that child. It’s easy to judge looking in from the outside, but make no mistake: These parents and families are victims of the monster, too.

When I was 16 I had a much older teacher start showing me special attention and eventually openly seduce me during a summer art program for teens that I was attending at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, and literally nobody gave a shit. Grown-ups offered me rides to and from this man’s house, where he regularly fed me and my underage friends drugs and alcohol, and had sex with me. None of this happened in the shadows. I was openly sleeping over at this teacher’s house, in his bed, showering in his master bathroom. Nothing was a secret; not to his friends, roommates, family, and coworkers — and not to mine. From Starry Constellation Magazine: (11/9/18)

Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) This answer has really changed a lot over the years. When I started out in the late 90’s I was all about this ‘Putting the Disco back into Discomfort’ tagline, which was evident in both my music and behavior at the time. The electronic period that followed was also a time in my career where I was signed to a major label and several indies, so I had other people describing my sound a lot, trying to help “shape” my sound, all of that bullshit. Ever since breaking out on my own again I’ve felt really free to do whatever the hell I want, work with whoever I choose, and follow creative whims that have taken me down a bunch of different sonic paths that I honestly never would have been allowed to go down if I were still making records for other people. So, people know me as this electronic emotional dance pop dude because that’s what my records were from 1998-2012. My last album was just full-on college rock — an homage to all of the bands and songs that actually shaped me — and that led to this very stripped down, intimate situation I find myself in currently. Jesus, that was a long way of saying “piano pop.” [laughs] Read the rest of this entry »
