We finished tracking my vocals for a ton of stuff I can’t talk about yet this week. Feels relieving somehow, given this dangerous time in the world. Now if I disappear, at least these songs won’t.

Here are some behind the scenes shots to prove I went outside:
Ok, so…there have been a lot of exciting things happen over the past year, ranging from Jay Mohr producing my new record, to having people I adore like The Dandy Warhols, Jarryd James, Rian Lewis, The Upsidedown, DoublePlusGood, Stose and others sign onto the project by way of upcoming collaborations; but today I am completely freaking out.
When I was 8 years old, 80s pop phenom Tiffany‘s “I Think We’re Alone Now” found its way to my ears, my dancing feet, and my heart…which was hurting pretty badly at the time. Tiffany’s voice and songs were a lifeline for me back then, and I am so excited to announce that my original musical hero has also signed on to collaborate with me on a song for “My Movie Star”!!!
The details are still top secret for now, but I could not possibly be happier about this if I tried. OH MY GOD. 🙂
Here is a screenshot of the piece, which appears on page 6:

What Pride Month Means to Me:
Music and video has always been a way for me to push back on dominant culture. As a queer youth, making songs about coming to terms with my own sexuality and exit from the non-affirming conservative Christian cult I was raised in, there were many times where being able to connect to myself by way of those songs was really instrumental in keeping me alive. Pride is a 365 day annual experience for me. I come out over and over and continue to be a visible gay person in rooms that have maybe historically not been very welcoming…and are sometimes not welcoming still. My songs, my records, my style, my voice out in the world — those are the ways in which I am able to combat the oppression in my life. My response to the election, to the violence in the community, is to dial my gay up. You thought I was sparkly before? Well, look at me now. Read the rest of this entry »

Well, friends? January has turned into quite the thing! We still have a couple of days left in this first month of 2016, but after releasing my new video “The One” on New Year’s Eve, a bunch of seriously fun things have happened. 😉
As of just now when I went to grab the embed code for this post, the video has been watched over 70,000 times. Thank you to each of you who have watched, shared, liked and commented on the video since its release 4 weeks ago. I love you all so much!
The full record, “Adieu”, is coming your way September 27th, with another new single and video before that this spring, so…stay tuned!
